Day # 12 GOODchristmas:: Feed The Hungry

The alarming results show that 1 in 6 Americans is still food insecure and now more than 50 million Americans. This includes 1 in 4 children. – Feeding America

GIVE UP YOUR BREAKFAST TODAY. Reflect on local kids that go to school hungry everyday. Ask your local public school if they have a program that provides breakfast for kids from low-income families and how you can help. Or visit FeedAmerica.org to find out ways you can help.

Give up your breakfast for the whole week!

Whoever embraces one of these children as I do embraces me, and far more than me—God who sent me. – Matthew 9:37

My First Teacher’s Weeks As A Mom

Handmade Chocolate Dipped Pretzels with Reese's Chips

This is JC’s first year at school, so I’m a little green at this “mom-of-a-school-kid” thing. Come to find out, he came home with a paper in his backpack on Friday that talked about this week being “Teacher’s Week”. The best part was that my husband and I were in Desert Springs on a Marriage Retreat and did not see the note until Monday morning.

The note was from the PTA with ideas for fun gifts each day this week. I must admit I was happy somebody did that thinking for me.  Here is what they suggested and then I will tell you what I did::

Monday:: Flowers  – I gave the woman teachers a flower pen or pencil made by my very creative friends Tami and Patty!

Tuesday:: Candy – My attempt at being a “good OC mom” I made chocolate dipped pretzels with Reece’s Chips

Wednesday:: fruit day – I gave all natural fruit roll-ups

Thursday:: School supplies – i bought glue sticks

Friday:: hand written letter – made a card and had JC color in it
